Maeva Michiels

Maeva Michiels is a developer, artist, and designer with an extensive portfolio of high-profile residential, hospitality, and international projects. Her work includes the residence of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Baker Georgetown in Cady’s Alley, and the residences of Harvey Pitt and Mitchell Rales.

Maeva’s international experience includes project design, coordination, and construction oversight across Belgium, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Southeast Asia. Fluent in multiple languages, she brings cultural fluency and clarity to complex construction environments, enabling her to successfully manage diverse teams and navigate varied cultural contexts.

In 2013, Maeva’s design for Chef Frederik DePue’s Table restaurant was recognized as Best New Restaurant. She also served as lead designer for Piola on 14th Street and Il Canale in Georgetown—both acclaimed international restaurants in Washington, DC.

Since 2010, Maeva has worked as a project coordinator and construction supervisor for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), contributing to initiatives aimed at improving living conditions in developing regions. Her commitment was especially evident during her year in Port-au-Prince, where she oversaw reconstruction efforts following the 2010 earthquake. Earlier, in 2006, she led the design of a school campus in Cambodia for ChildED, a New York–based nonprofit.

A key member of Michiels Partners in Washington, DC since 2003, Maeva specializes in high-end modern development and the restoration of historic homes. She is also a partner and lead developer at Ursula, LLC, a DC-based joint venture focused on contemporary real estate development. Her career began in Europe and South America, shaping the global perspective that defines her work today.

Maeva has served as a guest critic and juror at The Catholic University of America and Howard University. She received her architectural training at the Saint-Luc Institute in Brussels, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
